They don’t call it “The Most Magical Place on Earth” for nothing. It’s amazing to me that each trip to Walt Disney World® feels so different yet always special. My most recent trip before the start of summer was no exception, and it was a great opportunity for me to update myself on what’s happening on property along with at the Parks. I was a little out of my comfort zone at times since I didn’t have my family with me; however, I was able to experience amazing new things with my fellow Minnie’s Travel Boutique (MTB) travel agent, Amy Haskell.
Believe it or not, it was the first time Amy, and I actually met each other. We’ve been with MTB for so long and we haven’t actually met in person before. We started planning about a month before our trip and snagged a few dining reservations that made us very excited. We started our trip with breakfast reservations at Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Not only was the food delicious, but it was a Character meal, and we were able to visit with Mickey and Minnie, Donald, and Daisy. Topolino’s Terrace has an elevated French- and Italian atmosphere, and a great way to begin our trip. I would be amiss if I didn’t mention that Donald and Daisy were so sweet and playful. Considering it was a rather warm day in Orlando, Fla., we spent time at our resort pool, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort to cool down. Later that evening, we went to Disney Springs® for dinner at The Edison. A phenomenal meal with live music and a retro 1920’s power plant vibe—again, phenomenal.

On our first full day at the Parks, we excitedly woke up, purchased Disney Genie+ and watched our clocks to join the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind virtual queue. Following our race of excitement (ha), we started at EPCOT® and enjoyed seeing all the Disney-character topiaries. We also spent the morning riding our usual favorite attractions like Soarin’ Around the World® and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and then off to Guardians! I was shocked to find it’s my new favorite. After Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, we then park-hopped to Disney’s Hollywood Studios® for lunch in Toy Story Land at Roundup Rodeo BBQ. The food was delicious, and the theming was so fun, and the Disney Cast Members were great additions to the toy box! My favorite part was the huge pen to sign our check (ha). And we barely missed Andy coming (if you know, you know). To conclude this day, we enjoyed Fantasmic!® which I have completely missed and so glad I got to see the updates to it.
Our second full day started at Disney’s Magic Kingdom® where were lucky to experience TRON Lightcycle / Run. It was a day filled with nostalgic rides and shows and magical treats, including my very first DOLE Whip®! We stacked so many Lighting Lanes using Disney Genie+ and were able to conquer (ha) Disney’s Animal Kingdom® later that same day.
Our trip was short. Nothing wrong with that; after all, it’s Walt Disney World®. But there was so much about this trip that was new for me. The biggest take away is, like I tell my clients, there is no wrong way to “do Disney.” It’s all about personal preference and going with the flow. Looking all around me, I saw Guests hustling to each attraction and some that were so chill, they were just happy to be there. For me, I enjoyed it all. And I’m always thankful for the opportunity to experience the Parks, as well as the Resorts.
